The 51²è¹Ý Russian Studies committee is hosting a three day workshop on campus. The first part of the workshop will be presentations on ââ¬ÅRussiaââ¬â¢s Asian Connections.ââ¬Â On the third panel, Professor Erika Monahan (University of New Mexico) will be presenting ââ¬ÅWomen of the Steppe, Women of Siberia in the Works of Cornelius de Bruynââ¬Â and Professor Tricia Starks (University of Arkansas) will be presenting ââ¬ÅTobacco and the Image of the Empire in Late Imperial Russia.ââ¬Â In the fourth panel, Professor Ilya Vinkovetsky (Simon Fraser University) will present ââ¬ÅA Match Made in Kiakhta: Russian Merchants and Chinese Goods Prior to 1858ââ¬Â and Professor Ryan Jones (University of Auckland) will present ââ¬ÅVladimir Arsenââ¬â¢ev and Whales in Russiaââ¬â¢s Revolutionary Far East.ââ¬Â
